This is genuinly frightening. I'd like to think that people could perhaps share a common physical reality, but...

I'm starting to really believe that the End Times
folk could be the "fascists" of our epoch, only more dangerous,
because they disregard the entire paradigm of reason upon which, for
better or for worse, our perceptions of ourself, our environment and
our reality lies. There's no negating a belief, because it really is
unnegatable. Hendrixites, if Flanner-Dailey ever offers the "Apocalyptic Thought"
class again, you MUST take it. It explains so much about how so many
people, not just religious nuts or right-wingers, view themselves and
the world.

It's this god damn middle class. That's what fueled the
fascists one hundred years ago and that's where the fundamentalist
movement is drawing its greatest strength. If you have any doubt, look
at the influence of "God" on both the campaigns. As Gene Lyons writes
in this month's Harpers (in a review of the Left Behind series), "The
apocalyse is here-and you're the star!"

Sometimes I feel very much like someone living in, say, Alsace around
1913. The handwriting's on the wall, but no one can read it.

Ghost Roast was pretty fun, although I would suggest as an alternative title "Let's all get really trashed and lose other people's things Roast."

I was a Pervert Zombie Farmer (not a farmer of them, but a farmer who fits within the former categorizations).
