Hey, thanks for the comments guys. Acissej, I would love a pigs-kissing-in-gondola thing. I'll try to bring you back some racist flour. (There's a brand of flour here that displays on its package a smiling Sambo-like figure and makes some sort of allusion to how white it is. Argentina is surprisingly racist, and there are pretty much no black people here. At all. Anyone who happens to be poor or homeless or a beggar, however, is refered to as "negro", no matter how honky they be. Uh...)(Oh, and also they sell Sambo dolls dressed in various fùtbol jerseys. Wierd.)

So yeah, it's been a pretty good week, and some of my classes have started, and they are good, if very highly demanding, reading-wise. El dìa de san Patricio was fun, though I didn't do a whole lot, other than have a couple at an "irish" bar that was filled with insufferably hip twentysomethings, which make up a huge swath of the population around here. These people are the definition of tragically hip, but, true to their tragic nature, they seem to have no concept of "tragically hip". Irony is just starting to catch on here...

Oh yeah, speaking of the hipsters, you wouldn't believe the 80s mania here. Yeah, it's strong in Europe too, but we're talking full mullets and even rat tails and yes, bad hair metal. I'm thinking of Hamilton...
