Just in case anyone I know should stumble upon this page

So, this summmer I worked at Hendrix College's Physical Plant as a grounds crew person. I got to ride around all day in a tiny truck and do stupid, pointless things like blowing the debris off the sidewalk with a leafblower. I got bored with that, so I quit and went on a road trip for a few weeks to Chicago, Toronto, NYC, New Jersey and DC. It's amazing, really, how much money can be blow in three weeks... Afterwards, I spent about a week in C-way before going up to Iowa to work in cornfields for a few weeks, detasselling corn. Now I have returned. Back to the routine for six months, then jetting off to Buenos Aires for a year.

Also I'm not wearing a red shirt today, and I ate all of the aforementioned cake. And I'm reading Borges' Ficciones, which happens to be marvelous.

Tot ziens,

Nater

Sounds like you had an exciting summer, aside from the detasselling of corn. I didn't realize that people could get jobs doing that, but I haven't exactly spent hours pondering the processing of corn.

Have fun in BA next year! I wish I could spend a year there. That's where my husband is from. Are you going there to study, for fun, or a little of both? Will this be your first trip to Argentina?
