Freunden!

Well, it's finally that time. Everyone is dropping like flies. Oh, what the hell, what a godawful metaphor. No they aren't; they're going to Europe, for their year of study abroad. Damn you South America, and damn your differing academic calendar. Anyway, Molly is in de Nederlands (moonthego.blogspot.com) and Tom (tominaustria.blogspot.com), Ham, and Eric are leaving tomorrow for Österreich. James will be going to Santiago de Compostela before too long.
But, I'll see them, hopefully, in Prague at New Year's. Hopefully.

Alex is already in Budapest, but he's out of contact, so I don't know how he's doing. If anyone knows, tell him that Oskar is alive and well and living with Benji at the Faulkner house. Jud, poor Jud, adrift in a sea of Koreans. Who the hell knows how he's doing. Ben, in Melbourne, is presumably having a swell time, even if it is winter right now. These guys I probably won't see for an entire year and a half(!). Yikes. Well, it's not as if I've ever had many people in my life for longer than two years anyway. We'll all just be moving on in 2006. (Hopefully to Toronto.)

I'm getting nervous because ISEP still hasn't told me where I'm going to be placed. 8/10 I'll be in Buenos Aires, but I could wind up in Cordoba, or god forbid, Montevideo. I could handle that okay, though. It's just that I've really gotten excited about Argentina and BsAs, having never before been south of Texas.

The main thing is getting out of here. Conway is getting REALLY old. Cripes, I grew up in the 'burbs. It's time to leave.

For the record, I'm actually wearing a green shirt today. Worry not: it's sufficiently saucy.
