Hey! I went to the beach this weekend and it was certainly sufficiently relaxing. Some friends and I went to Pinamar, which is basically the Argentina equivalent of Cape Cod, about 5 hours from BsAs by bus. I was able to surmise thusly due to the shockingly high percentage of really preppy, incredibly wealthy rubes with their sweaters tied around their necks (I know, in the summer? But it did get a bit nippy at night). It was still cheap though: including staying in a hotel for 2 nights and round-trip bus fare, I spent around u$s100 for the whole weekend.

And waves! The waves were quite large, which was a blast.

Highlight: spontaneous 4 a.m. swim. New stars! I've never seen the ones in the Southern Hemisphere. Well, that was an obvious statement. I think it's time for a picture:

Guess what town this is?

Yeah, dude, I saw the southern cross the other night. Rock on! It's shocking but you can actually see quite a few stars in the city.

Yes - yea for us southies! I haven't really noticed the stars lately - in Santiago, I was usually under some kind of awning if I was out at night. But, when we went camping at the very beginning, I learned about a couple of constellations - one called something about Mary - oh man. Oh - it's 3 in a row - but I still don't remember the name. Yea for people who know about stars. I'll keep an eye out for Scorpius, and Mars as well.
